Wee! After such a long break from blogging, I can maintain this again!!! WEEE! I promise to keep up to date since I have no job and I want to interact as much as I can! I will not just be randomly reviewing the stuff I use on my body, but basically talk about life in general and help you lovely ladies out in case. I honestly do not know how I can help but I hope I can at least be there with you in spirit :3
Let us start!
The first backpack is the jansport fx zebra backpack! I got it from Amazon awhile back because I needed a backpack desperately. I am the type to buy things when needed AND it has to be pretty too so I get the bang out of my buck. This looks like a tacky backpack, but trust me it is made from the softest faux leather and velvet feeling stripes #pillow. This bag saved my studies and got me a job. LOL.
Next trustee backpack is Herschel Settlement Holiday 2013 Polka Dot Backpack. It is much compact than the first one but it can hold as much stuff, so if you are a petite girl like me and want good space + not so overwhelmingly big on your back backpack, then this is perfect :D.
Now moving on to the contents of the backpack:
I rely so much on display books over binders. They do not take up so much space, it has pockets so you don't keep punching holes on your nice sheets of papers, and it keeps it super organised! LIKE SUPER. You can buy them wherever - typo, kikki k, asian stationery shops... there is always bound to be one! You can also have them plain, or fancied as. Depending on my mood, I have hello kitty ones, transparent ones, or just plain black. Black is cool... and reusable lol.
Notebooks! :3 Also depending on my mood (I am such a woman), I can
either have an A4 or a B5 sized notebook, spiral or non. Sometimes I
like plain old notebooks and just duraseal it with guess what colour...
black! lol. Anyway here are my top picks! From Kikki K and Typo!
Pencil Case! I adore pencil cases so much but a staple is always a transparent pencil case so you can see what's in it without having to open it. However, the major disadvantage to it is that since it is made of plastic, it is not as durable as cloth pencil cases. I love pencil cases... so you GO WILD. Korean Stationery shops sell the best pencil cases, so you should defintiely have a look at them!!!
Pens!!!! and all them stationery! I have particular preferences when it comes to stationery because I am weird like that. I like my pens 0.5 tip when WRITING ESSAYS. it is much easier and it doesnt cause so much friction on the paper than using 1.0 tip. I have a range of pens from BIC, dong-a, random korean pens, uni style fit. You name it I have it in 0.5 or less tip. Lab works on the other hand, I really like much friction because it enables me to think I guess. LOL my logic is bad. I am not picky with thicker tips so I just steal someone else's. JOKE. Highlighters, the nicer smell the better. For some reason my brain rememebrs smell. WEIRD. Now I am hunting some since I ran out of them already. Either way STABILO highlighters are good without the smell. Scissors! The sharper the better of course (err.), glue! stapler! magic pencil!!! SAY WHU. I love them lol. Anyway, mechanical pencils are good too, if there is a need to be mature.
Kikay Kit, makeup bag or cosmetics pouch. Whatever you wanna call it, I gotta have it. I was not as kikay before so having this kinda felt awkward at first but now who cares. I gotta have it! Let us see what are other recommendations I have that are relatively budget friendly, coz lez be honest I had to save up for half a year to buy some of the cosmetics I have. START! When it comes to pouches, whatever is a free gift I use it. You must clean your make up pouch regularly so your makeup does not get contaminated. I shall leave the pouch up to you. :3 If you have drier skin be sure to bring a good hydrating mist or a little tube of mosituriser. If you have oily skin, remember blotting sheets! AND SUNSCREEN FOR EVERYONE!
First, you need a good concealer. I love this one! And remember imperfections are good :3
Blush, so your face becomes a little lively. It's always good to have blush. These are by topshop and I highly recommend them. In my opinion, cream blushes give that natural look. If you find that your blush is a little creamy or on the oilier side, remember to put them on the back of your hand before applying to face. :D Always remember clean fingers!
Lip tint! For that pop of colour without the shine. Personally I am more of a stain girl than a gloss. When I used to work at lush, I was given this thrice! Seriously I could not even finish one tin in 6 months. I would recommend using this with q tip if you dislike staining your fingers.
Other not so important but gotta have it still items. like band aids, girl items, wet wipes, hand sanitiser, wallet and theeseeeee:
YUP gotta love them. now here is a picture of what is actually in my bag a la instagram. They were actually taken since I started university which was in 2011! I know I am so old.
:3 lastly this is a video to show you guys what has been actually in my backpack recently!!!!
Btw, I also have an account in makeupalley as surfinbabe (hey i created that username when i was still 13!) hahahaa
Neways back to the review.
There was actually this time that I was itching to buy a toner since I did not use any and the last toner I used was Laneige (which worked alright I guess) Basically the reason I wanted to buy a toner was due to my oil secretion which sucked!!!!!! And basically if my face is alright, I will not ever bother to use a toner.
Then my search was on.
I was thinking of Clinique but I read this outrageous post that they use their toners as floor cleaners because of their high alcohol content.... and dude that scared me. I was planning on clarins but bro it looks like its not a 'teen friendly' brand. Then dermalogica.... but it was far too expensive.
Then I switched to supermarket brands (the drugstore in US) then there was neutrogena but my experience in the past (I have used their sunscreen) was not that great. And I couldn't even be bothered on looking at others like clean and clear or garnier.
Anyways, then there were the Korean brands, but I thought they were also also expensive.... I mean my search for expensive things were then over.
So I only narrowed myself to two choices and there was Lush and The Body Shop. Both nice and eco friendly looking. Its harder to risk for TBS since its way more expensive. So my mom bought the smaller bottle for Lush Tea Tree Water.
When she went home from work, she actually threw this yellow bag on me which smelled like soap (like you can actually smell it a meter away, that's how strong it is), then when I opened it it was the Lush. My first ever Lush purchase (and also my mom's). It came in this black simplistic and very straightforward spray bottle that has a cap..... then yeah.
First night was horrible. When I sprayed it on my face, I thought I was inhaling some weird perfume because i smelled horrible!!!!!!!!!!!. (Used the word horrible twice so far). But it went fine, didnt give me pimples mor allergic reactions.
Second night, I thought of just actually spraying it on my fingers and actually patting it on my face instead. Pretty neat right?! And way better than inhaling all those weird stuff.
And the nights passed and my face stayed matte.... matter than ever. So I'd give this one a super 5/5 star and definitely a recommend to those people who have oily and troubled skin.
My skin's oiliness is not that much as compared to what it was before (maybe its oily now since I slather my whole body with bio oil kinda addicted to it right now)
It did improve my complex, it was clearer (lesser spots for sure) since my skin was gearing towards normal (yipeeeeeee!)
Anyways, that's my review. :P Remember reviews are pretty much a reference only, it does not mean what works for me will actually work for you because its impossible. :P
Tried and Tested: Herbal Essences Hello Hydration!
Herbal Essences Hello Hydration! Review
If you are thinking of buying Herbal Essences right now, you may want to read a little something, something first based on my experience. (I like reading reviews too!) This is not some kind of ‘ruining brand rep’, but it is just an insight from me.
While I was searching for a really nourishing, moisturizing shampoo in the internet, I stumbled across Herbal Essences Hello Hydration. I used Herbal Essences before (their old range, and the pink one) but that was just it. I forgot as to why I stopped using it. I heard great reviews, (also how some of my friends who had really nice hair was using it) about it as the top shampoo pick or whatsoever, so I was craving to give it a try.
So I bought it.
At first, yeah it did deliver that nice smell. I actually thought even though it was nice, the smell of coconut milk and orchid made me feel dizzy afterwards. Maybe it was just all in the mind.
However, it was just the smell. I didn't feel anything else - how my hair should feel really soft after it was moisturized.
SO I gave it a good two weeks (I think, I lost track because of school.) Nothing happened to my hair.
Probably because it was the density of my hair... actually, it is pretty thick. Each strand is twice thicker than the average one. You may think, 'whoa she's so lucky to have that'... but to get that 'pantene' hair required a very good maintenance, and that includes a very good shampoo (and conditioner), which unfortunately Herbal Essences did NOT ever deliver to me.
Well, it was a cute packaging though, how the shampoo was the right way up, and the conditioner was upside down. As I kept on using it, the containers began to deflate, this is rather funny. I was itching to blow it up to its original 'nice' plump (ae?). Saddage (my emo word for sad.)
Anyways. back to the product. The consistency of both the shampoo and the conditioner was pretty thick. I reckon it was the thickest shampoo and conditioner I have ever applied to my hair. Ever. I don't understand, how I easily said it, but it felt heavy when I poured it on my hands. There were bits of pearl-like stuff in the shampoo (it was noticeable.) At first I thought, 'Glamorous.', and the liquid easily glided out of the shampoo tube. However it was different from the conditioner. The conditioner, was a much thicker consistency. Instead of a pearl-like liquid, this was way creamier, and just simpler.
Okay, so moving on to how this product is doing on me now, I've been getting pimples all over my face, neck and back *disgusting* (not like a lot, but they're small, and pretty scattered, not just on one particular area.) And I am suspecting, it is because of the shampoo and the conditioner. Why? Well recently, I've been avoiding 'Procter & Gamble' products, because every time I research something about their product, there was always those 'some' people who reckon these products can give you acne. I am avoiding Pantene, Olay, Maxfactor, and now Herbal Essences (I knew I should not have bought it!). I researched it further as to what reasons they should give acne. I found out, mainly because of their high pH level, probably it's too basic. I wish I have a pH paper right now; it would probably turn deep blue. They used a lot of detergents, and chemicals (which right now, I am avoiding.) It turned out, that it had a lot of ingredients, which would REALLY scare acneic people (like me.)
(list of ingredients.)
Well, it is such a disgrace. Not only, it didn't give me enough moisture for my hair, but also, gave me acne, which is WORSE. I'm sorry but I do have to discontinue using this (and let my dad use it. haha)
And because of this, Vickii gives this a 1/5. (I'm sorry.) That single 1 is because of its fragrance which I kinda (sort of.. sort of) liked, and the cute packaging (oh! It has some bubbles on the side.)
I bought this for:…. At our supermarket. Not bad for the price, but Palmolive, which is cheaper can deliver better results, I reckon.
If you want to see my hair before and after I used this, I am going to post a video up, or if you want to just see me blab, sure thing :)
